Confirmed On-Chain But Not Credited — A Common Issue
You deposited crypto to Binance, checked the blockchain explorer, and it shows the transaction succeeded with enough confirmations. But when you open the Binance app, the deposit record is still "Pending," or there's no record at all. Your balance hasn't changed a bit.
This is definitely anxiety-inducing, but don't panic. As long as the on-chain transaction is confirmed and the address is correct, your funds are virtually impossible to lose. "Pending" simply means the final crediting step hasn't been completed yet.
Two Different Types of Pending
Pending on the Blockchain
If the blockchain explorer shows "Pending" or "Unconfirmed" — the transaction hasn't been confirmed by the blockchain yet. This has nothing to do with Binance; it's an on-chain issue (possibly low gas fees, network congestion, etc.). You can only wait.
Pending on Binance's Side
The blockchain explorer shows the transaction as confirmed (e.g., 50+ confirmations on Ethereum), but Binance shows "Pending" or "Processing" — the issue is on Binance's end. This is what we focus on here.
Why Binance Shows Pending
Node Sync Delay
Binance runs its own blockchain nodes to monitor and process deposits. If a node experiences sync delays (due to restarts, network forks, etc.), Binance may temporarily be unable to read your transaction.
This delay is usually temporary and auto-resolves within minutes to hours. Check the announcement section in the Binance app for any related system notices.
Wallet Maintenance
Binance regularly performs maintenance or upgrades on certain coins' wallets. During maintenance, even if the on-chain transaction is confirmed, Binance won't credit the deposit. All deposits arriving during maintenance are processed in batch once maintenance ends.
How to check: On Binance's deposit page, select the coin — if it shows "Deposits Suspended" or a maintenance notice, that's the reason.
Security Risk Control Triggered
Binance's risk control system may subject some transactions to extra review. Common triggers:
- Unusually large single deposit
- Sending address previously flagged as suspicious
- Multiple deposits received in rapid succession
- The deposited token is experiencing extreme price volatility
- New account making a first large deposit
Funds are safe during review and will be credited automatically once cleared.
Confirmation Requirements Temporarily Raised
Although you see enough confirmations under normal requirements, Binance may have temporarily raised the threshold for security reasons. This typically happens:
- When a blockchain network shows anomalies or suspected attacks
- After a brief chain fork
- As a precautionary measure following security incidents
Temporary increases usually revert within hours to a day or two.
Token Contract Issues
Some tokens (especially smaller ones) may be undergoing contract upgrades, migrations, or other technical issues. Binance may pause crediting until the contract's security is confirmed.
How to Handle This
Step 1: Wait 30-60 Minutes
Often this is just a temporary delay that the system handles automatically. No action needed.
Step 2: Check Binance Announcements
See if there's a maintenance notice for the relevant coin or network. If maintenance is the cause, wait for it to end.
Step 3: Verify Transaction Details
Carefully confirm:
- The deposited coin matches what you sent
- The network/chain selected is correct (sender and receiver must match)
- The deposit address is completely correct
- If Memo/Tag was required, it was filled in correctly
After signing up for Binance, you can verify your deposit address info on the deposit page.
Step 4: Prepare Documentation
If it's been over 2 hours with no crediting, prepare to contact support with:
- Transaction hash (TxID)
- Blockchain explorer screenshot (showing success status and confirmation count)
- Binance deposit record screenshot (if available)
- Your Binance UID
- Coin, amount, and network
Step 5: Contact Binance Support
Use the Help Center in the Binance app to contact live support or submit a ticket. Send all prepared information at once for fastest processing.
Which Coins Are More Prone to This Issue
Newly Listed Coins
When Binance adds deposit support for a new coin, it may not be fully stable initially, with higher chances of delays.
Low-Volume Coins
Smaller coins may have lower system priority on Binance, with less timely node sync and crediting.
Multi-Chain Tokens
Tokens existing on multiple chains (e.g., USDT with ERC-20, TRC-20, BEP-20 versions) — choosing the wrong chain causes problems.
Coins with Recent Technical Changes
After contract upgrades, hard forks, or other technical changes, deposit processing may be temporarily affected.
Mainstream coins like BTC and ETH on their native networks, and USDT on TRC-20, rarely experience the confirmed-but-pending issue.
Important Notes During Pending
Don't Send Another Deposit
Until the first deposit issue is resolved, don't send another using the same coin and network. If it's a systemic issue, the second one will face the same problem.
Don't Trust "Deposit Acceleration" Claims
People online who claim they can "speed up your Binance deposit" are all scammers. No one can externally accelerate Binance's internal processing.
Price Changes Don't Affect Credited Amount
Even if prices swing wildly during the pending period, you'll receive exactly the amount you sent. What arrives is coins, not their fiat equivalent.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is It Normal for Confirmations to Be Complete But Binance Shows No Deposit Record at All
This is uncommon but may happen if nodes are severely delayed and Binance hasn't detected your transaction yet. It could also mean the address or network was wrong. Wait first; if there's still no record after 2 hours, contact support.
Can Pending Cause Fund Loss
No. As long as the on-chain transaction confirmed successfully and the address is correct, funds are safe. Pending is just a crediting delay.
How Long Should I Expect to Wait After Support Says They're Working on It
Depends on the cause. Wallet maintenance: support will give an estimated restoration time. Risk control review: usually within 24 hours. Technical issues requiring engineering: could be several days.
Can I Cancel a Pending Deposit and Resend
On-chain transactions are irreversible once confirmed. You can only wait for Binance to complete processing. After signing up for Binance, check common issue processing times in the Help Center.
Safety Tips
- Stay patient — don't make impulsive decisions out of anxiety
- Only contact support through the official Binance app or website
- Don't share your account information with strangers on any social platform
- Save your transaction records and TxID — they're essential for contacting support
- Before large deposits, test with a small amount to confirm the process works
